It is that time of year again. The time to put pen to paper, evaluate performance and come up with a plan for next year. Inman News recently went over what real estate professionals should be mindful of when developing their 2021 marketing plan: 

 

  • Up your online marketing game: Due to COVID, open houses may not be a possibility anytime soon. So, real estate professionals need to create a savvy online presence to reach potential clients and generate a steady stream of business. Infuse your drip campaigns and posts with a bit of your personality to stand out among other professionals.

 

  • It is all about the neighborhood: Since we are all stuck at home due to the pandemic, the neighborhoods we live in have become more important. Creating a post/video on the neighborhood amenities available, local businesses, or recreation opportunities is a good way to brand yourself as the local expert. As this is information that your neighbors, friends and potential clients will find relevant and helpful, you will be top of mind with them.

 

  • Focus on Quality of posts, not Quantity: Don’t post what EVERYONE else is posting. A post on housing market trends may look interesting, but it won’t be potent if your competition is posting it as well. Generic content providers won’t help you develop a unique brand/online presence. Make sure you post information that is relevant to your target audience and sets you apart from other professionals. 

 

  • Video is the way to go: Facebook and Instagram still rank high up on the list of platforms real estate professionals spend their marketing dollars on. These platforms have a clear bias towards video content as it gets greater engagement. Get in on this trend and don’t worry about creating “polished” content. A quick video you take on your phone while at the local park can do wonders to how your clients perceive you online. 

 

Real estate has always been about relationships and trust, and this is not going to change in 2021. But with changing times, professionals will have to adopt new ways to share their expertise, forge client relationships, and win their trust. Incorporate some of these tips into your plan for 2021 and stay ahead of the curve!
